COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION
Support for grassroots organizations as an instrument for community transformation is one of the central axes of our work. In this sense, our action is aimed at promoting and strengthening indigenous and Creole organizations and second-degree groups that are capable of representing their sectors and identifying their problems, designing proposals and taking actions to solve them.
LAND REGULARIZATION AND TENURE
The insecurity of land tenure for rural families – indigenous and peasant – in the Argentine Chaco is a historical problem that has been exacerbated by the expansion of the agricultural frontier and by regional infrastructure works.
Obtaining legal ownership of the land by indigenous communities and peasant families constitutes the basis for sustainable development. In this sense, we advise families so that they can initiate legal actions or negotiate with the registry holders in order to achieve ownership.
SUSTAINABLE USE OF WATER AND FORESTS
Water and forest resources in the Chaco region must be managed with sustainability criteria to reverse erosion processes and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Plans have been designed and practices developed, together with peasant families and indigenous communities, for the sustainable management of both natural resources.
IMPROVING AND DIVERSIFYING PRODUCTION SYSTEMS
The productive systems of many Chaco families are not very diversified and have a low technological level, which does not allow for the sustainable use of their resources and ensure a dignified life.
We work together with them, to diversify and achieve the stability of production systems, with the aim of guaranteeing food security, obtaining surpluses for marketing and improving family income. This allows the generation of activities that require family labor, ensuring the permanence of peasant families in their places of origin.
PRIMARY PRODUCTION TRANSFORMATION AND MARKETING
We also work with families to improve the transformation processes of primary production and its commercialization in order to generate a greater diversity and quality of products that go on the market.
The incorporation of appropriate and appropriate technologies allows adding value to primary production, prolonging the conservation of products and developing small-scale agro-industrial enterprises.
POLITICAL IMPACT
Social organizations are, above all, spaces for political construction that contribute to strengthening citizen participation, respecting and expanding rights, and designing and implementing public policies. In this sense, FUNDAPAZ, from its experience of working in the territories with grassroots organizations, works actively to contribute to make visible the problems of the rural sector and the construction of policies to improve the quality of life of rural families in the Chaco region.
Construction of a Geographic Information System
It is a tool that, due to its ability to operate, manage and analyze spatial and thematic information, is used in territorial management for access to natural resources. Its objective is to put into operation a methodology for surveying and processing data and obtaining results, which allows us to visualize our work and trajectory of 48 years accompanying and / or advising organizations and peasant and indigenous communities in the north of Argentina.
