The insecurity of land tenure for rural indigenous and peasant families in northern Argentina is a historical problem that has been exacerbated by the expansion of the agricultural frontier and regional infrastructure works.
Obtaining legal ownership of the land by indigenous communities and peasant families constitutes the basis for sustainable development. In this sense, we advise families so that they can initiate legal actions or negotiate with the registry holders in order to achieve ownership.
At the same time, ENCONA has been working since its participation in the National Council of Family Agriculture requesting that land policies be improved for the indigenous peasant sector.
